Kai joined the Immigration Department at ITN Solicitors in January 2022. He trained at Birnberg Peirce Solicitors, where he worked for five years on a mixture of Immigration cases. He graduated from the University of East Anglia where he read Law and then went onto complete the Legal Practice Course.
Prior to joining ITN, Kai worked in the charity sector, predominantly in organisations supporting refugees and asylum seekers. This included volunteering as a caseworker at Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID) where he worked within the Right to Liberty project. At BID, he worked primarily with vulnerable clients such as torture victims, people with severe mental or physical illnesses and long-term detainees.
Kai has experience in a wide range of immigration cases, working with both legally aided and private clients. He has a caseload of immigration, asylum and human rights law and has a particular interest in representing Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and LGBT asylum claims.
Kai is also an Accredited Senior Immigration Caseworker under the Law Society’s IAAS scheme.
