Shahara was admitted as a Solicitor in 2009 and joined the Children and Family Law Department at Irvine Thanvi Natas Solicitors in 2015. Shahara is a solicitor advocate and represents her clients at all levels of Court, including the High Court.
Shahara is an Accredited member of Resolution with particular specialism in private children law and domestic abuse. She is committed to resolving family disputes in a constructive manner.
Shahara undertakes all aspects of family law, however she has a particular interest in cases concerning children.
Shahara has extensive experience in representing parents and grandparents in care proceedings. Many of these cases are of a complex nature, including where there are issues of radicalisation, non-accidental injuries to a child and those with international issues/aspects. Shahara also has experience in representing parents in applications seeking the discharge of Care Orders and revocation of Placement Orders including where there have been significant breaches of the parents Human Rights and where declarations and damages are pursued.
Shahara has experience in representing clients in Female Genital Mutilation, and also representing parents in leave to remove applications where one parent has sought to relocate permanently with their child/children to another jurisdiction.
Shahara is fluent in Bengali with a good working knowledge in Hindi and Urdu. She is a volunteer for PBLMC, a voluntary non-profit organization which assists those in need with obtaining legal advice and assistance.
