The Government has now confirmed that the much awaited, Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 will come into force on 6 April 2022.
This new legislation will enable married couples to get divorced without having to assign blame or fault to the other party.
There have been significant campaigns calling for “No Fault Divorce” for some time and family lawyers have long been anticipating the progressive change in the law.
The introduction of the new law has been delayed but it is understood that the Government is committed to bringing this new Act into force . We will update further as developments in this area progress.
