Theresa is a highly experienced criminal lawyer and Head of ITN's Crown Court Department.

Theresa’s early experience included working on the Stephen Lawrence inquiry. Since moving to ITN solicitors, she has worked  in the firm’s Crown Court Department where she is now one of the most senior solicitors. Her case load is a varied one and includes violent crime, firearms, sexual offences and homicide.

Theresa has a strong interest in representing vulnerable defendants and young people. Born and raised in East London,  Theresa has a solid understanding of the challenges facing young people in the criminal justice system and has represented many young people who have been associated with gang culture. Over the years, she has developed long-standing relationships with clients and their families.

Prominent Cases

  • Stephen Lawrence Inquiry:  Theresa was part of the legal team who represented the Lawrence family which has become a landmark legal case
  • R –v- W:    17 year old female charged with possession of a firearm and drugs supply.  This case resulted in an acquittal
  • R –v- DH:  15 year old boy charged with a gang related attempted murder.  Client convicted of S.18 Grievous Bodily Harm
  • R- -v- N:  Female client charged with ABH against her husband and criminal damage.  The defendant was a vulnerable woman suffering from serious mental health issues. 
  • R-v- C: Charged with attempted murder of his male partner.  This case involved sensitive issues surrounding a gay relationship and undiagnosed mental health issues.
  • R – v- W: 11 year old boy charged with rape and attempted rape of 5, 6 and 7 year old boys.  Client received a non-custodial sentence.
  • R – v- D: Defendant charged with two counts of rape and assault on his partner.  Defendant acquitted despite having a previous conviction for rape.
  • R – v- F: Elderly male charged with historical sexual abuse of his daughter which resulted in achieving an acquittal.
