Graeme is an expert in criminal and military law, inquests and public inquiries.

He is a higher courts advocate and regularly conducts trials in the crown court. Graeme has also appeared as junior counsel in murder trials and large scale conspiracies to supply controlled drugs.

Graeme is an experienced litigator and has conducted many serious criminal cases, including murder and money laundering.

Graeme defended in two of the largest and most high profile Courts Martial cases ever conducted, the prosecution in 2005 of British paratroopers accused of the murder of an Iraqi civilian and in 2007 the prosecution of soldiers from The Queens Lancashire Regiment for manslaughter and war crimes. In both cases, Graeme’s clients were acquitted.

The latter case gave rise to the Baha Mousa Public Inquiry, in which Graeme represented one of the interested parties.

The Baha Mousa Public Inquiry – Inquiry into the death of an Iraqi civilian in the custody of soldiers from the Queens Lancashire Regiment. The case is at the preliminary stage.

R v U: Large scale mortgage fraud incurring losses of over £1 million.
R v F; Matricide of 100 year old victim.
