Military Discipline and Court Martial

Irvine Thanvi Natas has exceptional experience in defending military prosecutions.

We have acted in two of the largest and most complex Court Martial prosecutions ever conducted – the 2005 prosecution of soldiers from the Third Battalion, The Parachute Regiment for the alleged murder of an Iraqi civilian in 2003 and the 2007 prosecution of a soldier accused of war crimes after the death of Baha Mousa, an Iraqi civilian. In both cases, Irvine Thanvi Natas' clients were acquitted.

In the latter case, ITN went on to represent the serviceman in question at the public inquiry led by Sir William Gage into Baha Mousa’s death.

If you are subject to Court Martial proceedings you are entitled to the lawyer of your choice and may be entitled to legal aid from the Army Legal Aid Board.

We can act for you whether you are a member of the Army, Air Force or Navy and whether you are regular, reserve or territorial.

If you have been arrested, or are advised that you are likely to be arrested, contact us on our 24 hour emergency number, 020 7522 7707 and we will arrange to represent you.
